About Rasha Hammad:
After managing public and media relations for the organization “End Human Trafficking Now,” which spearheaded the link between businesses and human trafficking during the period 2006 to 2013, Ms. Hammad founded Youth Underground, an organization that works toward ending and bringing awareness to human trafficking. Youth Underground organizes youth events and creates partnerships to gain momentum and raise awareness to its cause by ensuring that the youth are able to express themselves in their own words, in their own way, to their own audiences.
Ms. Hammad has experience serving as the director of advocacy and communications for the Association François-Xavier Bagnoud, and was a board member of the first hotline for victims of human trafficking in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. From 2001 to 2004, Ms. Hammad was a speech writer and policy adviser for the executive director of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS in Geneva.
Ms. Hammad received a Master's degree in mass communications and journalism from the American University in Cairo. She has been recognized as a top executive for the work she has done for Youth Underground.
